Tips To Getting Indexed by Google Quickly

The faster you can get your website indexed, the better your chances at getting more visitors to your website, blog or forum. There are a few key ways to get your site indexed by Google quickly, but the way I have found that works the best is by using Social Bookmarking sites.

Social Bookmarking sites work by allowing you to store your favorite websites, or your bookmarks, with other people. Social bookmarking sites are quickly indexed by Google and other search engines and they provide backlinks back to your site. This helps to provide faster indexing. It is important though to make sure that you use one of the higher ranking Social Bookmarking sites in order to make this work. There are many different Social Bookmarking sites you can use, thought the three that I think work the best are Digg, Stumbleupon and del.icio.us.

Digg is the highest ranking Social Bookmarking site on the Internet currently and I have had great success in getting higher indexing by using this site. Registration with Digg only takes a few minutes and is very easy to use. Within a matter of a few hours of placing my pages on Digg, I have been able to see significant differences in the number of pages that are indexed by Google. The only downside to Digg is that unlike some of the other Social Bookmarking sites, Digg does not have a tool bar for you to install on your browser, making it a little more time consuming for you to submit your favorite site.

StumbleUpon is the next highest ranking Social Bookmarking site and I have also had a fair amount of success by using them as well. Using StumbleUpon is also very simple and submitting your favorite sites is made easy by their nifty little tool bar you can install on your browser window. With just a quick click of a button, you can easily add your favorite sites to this Social Bookmarking network and be on your way to getting indexed by Google in a hurry.

Del.icio.us is similar to StumbleUpon in function, however they do not have as high of a ranking as Stumble. They do however also offer a tool bar that you can install, which makes submitting your favorite sites to be indexed a breeze.

While there are of course many different ways to go about getting your site indexed, I’ve found that Social Bookmarking is one of the easiest. Using them not only helps for raising your page rank to get your site indexed better, but will definitely increase the amount of visitors you have to your blog, website or forum as well. Even if you only choose to use one of these Social Bookmarking sites, you will definitely see an improvement on the status of your indexing. However, since using them is so easy there is really no reason why you can’t use them all, and greatly increase the level of your indexing.

That’s interesting! It’s not often I hear something new on SEO but this is honestly the first time I’ve came across that information. I’ve often added pages to Digg, delicious and occasionally StumbleUpon in that order. It appears I need to rethink the order there of priority. Is it worth submitting older pages too or not or just brand new content do you think? I’ve been very lax about it and need to get a routine of some kind.

This is certainly one of those jobs you should consider outsourcing to reliable staff. You’ll get no argument from me that it’s important to submit to Digg, Del.icio.us and Stumbleupon but it’s a time consuming task (though not difficult)when you have a lot of pages to submit. If you think you’d be utilizing your time better by writing new articles or blog posts than doing that for example and can spare a few dollars, then it might be the wisest option.

I forgot to say what a great post that was! Shame on me. Thanks for sharing that. It was very good. :) One other site that I like too which isn’t so high profile is Newsvine.

This social bookmarking site’s more geared towards those that are past their teens I’d say. You can post news items and add your own opinion piece to it. Topics covered are the usual – tech, sports, politics, business, health, world, arts, entertainment etc.

It’s a bit more on the highbrow end in my opinion. You have the option to comment on items and create your own profile as well. A good place if you want to hear and participate in some intelligent conversation (most days).

  1. [...] Social bookmarking sites are a great way to promote your website. Sites like Digg, Technorati, etc, take the days “news”, and allow users to vote on it. You can submit an article, or an entire site, and if the Digg users like it, then they will vote for it. The more people vote, the higher your site goes, bringing more traffic. Digg can also help with general SEO as it is essentially free links to your site. Digg is great for a quick traffic boost, and can often bring hundreds, even thousands of visitors to your site in a day. [...]
