[...] Social bookmarking sites are a great way to promote your website. Sites like Digg, Technorati, etc, take the days “news”, and allow users to vote on it. You can submit an article, or an entire site, and if the Digg users like it, then they will vote for it. The more people vote, the higher your site goes, bringing more traffic. Digg can also help with general SEO as it is essentially free links to your site. Digg is great for a quick traffic boost, and can often bring hundreds, even thousands of visitors to your site in a day. [...]

I forgot to say what a great post that was! Shame on me. Thanks for sharing that. It was very good. :)One other site that I like too which isn't so high profile is Newsvine.

http://www.newsvine.com/

This social bookmarking site's more geared towards those that are past their teens I'd say. You can post news items and add your own opinion piece to it. Topics covered are the usual - tech, sports, politics, business, health, world, arts, entertainment etc.

It's a bit more on the highbrow end in my opinion. You have the option to comment on items and create your own profile as well. A good place if you want to hear and participate in some intelligent conversation (most days).

Kays last blog post..<a href="http://www.themegaphone.net/seo-futures-2/" rel="nofollow">SEO Futures</a>

This is certainly one of those jobs you should consider outsourcing to reliable staff. You'll get no argument from me that it's important to submit to Digg, Del.icio.us and Stumbleupon but it's a time consuming task (though not difficult)when you have a lot of pages to submit. If you think you'd be utilizing your time better by writing new articles or blog posts than doing that for example and can spare a few dollars, then it might be the wisest option.

That's interesting! It's not often I hear something new on SEO but this is honestly the first time I've came across that information. I've often added pages to Digg, delicious and occasionally StumbleUpon in that order. It appears I need to rethink the order there of priority. Is it worth submitting older pages too or not or just brand new content do you think? I've been very lax about it and need to get a routine of some kind.
