There are plenty of ways to get a hefty traffic for your website. Most of which require you to shell out some extra amounts that might be a little too hard on your pocket especially if your website is not wholly for business purposes. But if you have meager or no budget at all, don’t think that you are expecting too much. Truly, there are ways to create huge traffic for your website without even spending a penny.
One proven method is to exchange your links with other related websites. This tip is actually a no-brainer because you can hardly find any website that doesn’t link to another one nowadays. Ask any webmaster or an experienced blogger and they will tell you that exchanging links is a necessity to create public awareness for your website. It is important, however, to link your website to those that have the same or at least closely related contents as yours. The reason is that search engines would consider it spamming if you have your website massively linked to other websites just for the sake of search engine optimisation. If that happens, the purpose of getting high SEO ranking to get traffic for your website is easily defeated.
Another way to provide free traffic for your website is by submitting articles to famous online article directories and encyclopedias. These websites accept informative articles of any subject whatsoever for free. Writing for them about something that is closely related to your website and mentioning the link of your page on the article can easily direct free traffic to your site. To illustrate, if you have a website for your hair salon, you might consider writing tips and guidelines that are related to haircut, hair color, highlights, treatments and the likes. It would be easier for you since you probably know a lot of things about the same stuff you have on your very own website. Writing about what you know is as easy as blogging and the best thing is that, you don’t need to pay anyone to do it for you. Besides, most of these article directories do not require too lengthy articles. Otherwise, you can pay ghostwriters to do it for you for a petty amount.
If you are pretty much a good writer, then you might as well consider creating a newsletter. It might take a lot of your time, but without ample money, you really have to spend whatever it is that you have to get what you want. Besides, you don’t need to do all the work for the newsletter. You can ask writers and advertisers who want to contribute contents for free, in exchange of a byline or advertisement. Of course, you have to mention your website on the newsletter to promote traffic. The moment that the newsletter gets passed around to internet users, you don’t only get them to visit your website once; you can even gain credibility and trust from those who have read your helpful contents, creating frequent visitors to your site.
The most important thing to remember in attracting traffic to your website, whether through SEO or other viral marketing methods, is to avoid being labeled a spammer. It does not only hurt your good conscience, it also defeats the purpose of getting the search engine rankings for your website.

Agreed! Submitting your article to the article directory i.e. Ezine is one sure-fire way of directing traffic to your site and most importantly, it works and it’s free too.
