How to Create a Freelance Writer Website that Gets Read: A Writer’s Guidebook

When you have all the knack, ability and resources to write, do you think all these will suffice? If you agree, you are right in some point yet, what you fail to recognize especially if you are planning to create your own website is to have combinations of knack, ability, resources and strategies to let other people know you exist. Existence is necessary in the world where you breathe through writing.

A freelance writer who has all eyes to writing his every thoughts, ideas and make investments out of it would consider scribbling down words as his bread and butter. I consider writing not just any other form of work or investment but also a way to let loose all the ideas I have in mind. Through this, I am able to reach out to people even if it means words as a main channel to stay and get connected.

But to those who have been yearning to create a web page of their own and call it their haven and home for words and stories to share would ask how a freelance writer could possibly design a site that will be read by many. Getting to the very core of all these might be tricky and thorny yet, in order to make your site a big sensation and the talk of the town what you need is a page that would represent more of you rather than focusing on creating good impressions to other people. What I mean to say of this statement is a writer who writes just to get noticed and please people is like someone who stabs himself to death without experiencing the liberation and freedom of expressing genuine thoughts and ideas. Then again, if a writer writes because he wants to and the passion inside him is burning fervently to come out, he is a good writer.

Creating your own web site requires brief, short and snappy information of your line of expertise. If you are good at creative writing, writing novels and poems, technical writing then this must be clearly stated in your page. What I usually do is I try to focus on my strengths, narrow down the things I know I am good at and let everyone know that this is the thing that I can offer. I never pose as anybody or somebody for this will certainly get back and haunt me in the long run.

Creating your own website also requires a sample of your masterpieces. A lot of editors and employers would easily see through if articles are being copied and altered just for the mere sake of reproducing works. I should know for I have encountered a lot of these on a daily basis. Therefore, try to come up with unique and original writing samples if you do not want all these things to turn out as a major disgrace and discredit on your part.

Most importantly, I give all praises to freelance writers who are honest enough to admit their flaws and are willing to make necessary adjustments for the good of his site, his reputation, his writing abilities and zeal to create moving and inspiring stories to tell.

Hmmmm, actually I know how I would promote a freelance artist or designer, but a writer seems to be pretty self explaining and easy. You just have to write stuff… or am I mistaken here? It’s probably very often that you have to approach others to get jobs and started in the industry.
