Easy Steps To Get Your Article Rejected

Article marketing is a substantial part of any Internet marketing plan at the present time. Significant numbers of marketers use articles as their foremost way of SEO and traffic generation. It isn’t working for everyone, however. Some marketers lament that not only are they not getting results, but that their articles are often rejected.

Typically, when a directory rejects your article, they will not tell you why. This can be immensely frustrating. Don’t take it personally; they are inundated with articles and just don’t have time to explain to every marketer why their articles were rejected. How, then, can you ensure that your articles will be rejected every time, without risking the horror of having one or two slip through now and then and find their way to the Internet? You may want to follow these simple steps to ensuring your article will never see daylight in any directory.

Be Sure To Include Article Links Within the Body of the Article

If you include ‘hot’ links within the body text of your article, most directories will reject it. The only place that should contain active links is the author resource box. Most article directories work this way. So to guarantee rejection, pepper your article with hot links.

Submit To The Wrong Niche Directories

Have you written a spiffy article on possible medical treatments for toenail fungus? Submit it to a directory specializing in criminal law! You’ll be guaranteed to flop. Always submit articles to directories where they just plain don’t belong, and you’ll be rejected for sure.

Submit The Article to the Wrong Category

If you submit the article to the right category, you run the risk of having it accepted. If you submit to the wrong category, you may reduce that risk. Be aware, however, that you cannot rely solely on this practice, as the person vetting articles may be in a nice mood and re-categorize it for you, thus defeating your attempt at rejection.

Write In Substandard English

Rain man was a wonderful movie, wasn’t it? If you want to ensure rejection, write like Dustin Hoffman as Raymond spoke in that movie. If that is too complicated or requires too much craft or effort, mere poor grammar, frequent typos, and poor spelling, especially in the headline, will help guarantee you don’t make the cut. As a little added insurance you may want to pepper the article with obscenities.

Submit Too Many Articles On the Same Topic

Most directories, when they receive a large number of articles on the same subject, by the same author, with similar titles and summaries will suspect you are spamming them with articles. This is a good move if you want to make sure the articles are rejected, especially if you follow the other steps in this article as well. Most directories will reject the entire batch.

Advertise Shamelessly

Article directories are for articles, not for ads. If you submit shameless promotion pieces for your business that are not informative or of interest beyond the goods and services you are marketing, you will be rejected for sure.

Good luck. By following these handy tips, you will have no chance of success in your Internet marketing.

I always proof read my articles a few times before I submit them to any article directory. I also make sure all articles are of benefit, and not just plain self-promotion.

LOL @ Write in substandard English! This is definitely one way to get rejected. Your grammar and writing presentation should be top notch if you are submitting to directories. Afterall, isn’t the goal to have someone pick up your article and carry it on their page?

You might want to use good English.

I loved the direction you took this post: how not to get your article approved. Great tips here! You have created a very comprehensive link, and if done opposite of the way you suggest, it should be easier for article marketers to find success with approvals. Thanks for posting this!

Well, submitting an article with a link to an affiliate or squidoo page does the same in most directories for you as well.

  12. smashill says:

Including affiliate links or landing pages in your author box are a surefire way to get rejected as well. Very often squidoo gets kicked out as well.

  17. I think this society is too quick to “label everyone” and who are we to judge someone by some acronym? People should be assessed by their own merit when it comes to kids and their relationships with each other; leave them alone to determine who should be in their friend list.
