I think the most critical points there are these 2:
Failure to update and Lack of Response.

Lack of these 2 said point may cause major drop on your traffic and returning visitors. A very informative post and I've realized that this is very good blog for fellow bloggers, even elite bloggers. Keep up the good work!

Branding and making your blog unique and not one of millions of sub-standard ones is perhaps one of the most challenging things a blogger has to do. Finding and developing your unique blogging style that you feel comfortable, one that shows yourself as the real you is also important.

I like this post, but I'm going to comment on the topic about useless content. As a writer in general, even though we all want to have consistent readers, I tend to believe that writers write for themselves first, and if they like what they write then there's a chance others will like what they write. Useless is usually in the eye of the beholder. For instance, I could care less about cars, yet there are some people who who hold on to every word of an article about cars.

Now, if one's goal is to write about how to build cars, but instead they're always writing about drag racing or making cakes, yeah, I'd say that person may not be reaching the audience they said they were trying to reach. But overall, if one sticks to their general topic, they can be allowed to deviate from time to time.

Of course, with my blog title, I can deviate whenever I want to. :-)
