I’ve been a blogger ever since I can remember and my previous ideas of what blogs are were mostly about writing, expressing one’s thoughts, and tell people what went on with your day online. I used to call it an online journal, and over the years I have kept over four blogs that either are always updated or have been left to dry in the dust. As time flew by, blogs started becoming more inclined to topics about products, reviews about all kinds of things, and even about celebrity gossip. I then heard about the new internet marketing hype called article marketing and blog marketing, realizing just how dramatic the change of usage and function was for blogs all over the world. From mere self-expressions to money-making blog entries, people have transformed a very popular writing tool to a low-cost profit generating source.
This brought about the sprout of all kinds of blogs and eventually social networking websites that integrate blogs to other forms of social communication. Among all the blog sites that have made a name for itself, it’s WordPress.com that’s really impressed me the most. There are so many reasons why I decided to switch from my previous ones to WordPress, some of which involve primarily on the features being used, the speed whenever I upload multimedia along with my blog posts, and the organization of the write box, comments, tags, and other important things needed to make a blog experience fulfilling.
Another reason why WordPress became my ultimate blog choice for my self, as well as for other people, is because of the constant communication between the members and the administrators. Usually the people behind the scenes do not come into contact with the members, leaving them with outdated messages and the same old blogging tools that never improve in quality and functionality. For WordPress, it’s all about improving the performance of one of the most popular blogs in the internet. They have just released a new version called WordPress 2.7 that boasts of so many interesting features including keyboard shortcuts when posting comments, comment moderation, threading, and paging, as well as a total overhaul of the personal dashboard. You will first be greeted by continuous falling snow and then will be directed to your personal dashboard where you can look through the blog stats, enter a quick blog post, and even change themes without having to worry about waiting for long loading and bad graphics.
WordPress administrators know just how important socialization is within the online community, so they also added a comment moderation feature that allows people to edit, delete, and practically do everything else with the comments they get or leave in blogs. With this as well as other features regarding the posting of comments, there’s moderation and a form of discipline installed in WordPress amongst the members.
Let’s hear it from you. What platform does your blog run with and why have you decide to use it?

I think that WordPress is the only choice that you should go with because some many people use it and it is so flexible with all of the different plugins and themes that you can update it with
is it harder to use plugins for other blogging platforms

I love wordpress for the reason that it has a great variety of plugins to help in our daily blogging. These plugins just take care of SEO, caching etc.

I use wordpress engine, and yes it does serve me well
(especially when you have your own self hosted blog in the first place).
What makes the wordpress.com even better is that they always see what would please their user, before they decide the newer version. So they managed to deliver a requested product as well as enhancing their performance.

You can even make your own e-shop with wordpress.
