Probably the ultimate misconception one has about network marketing is the connotation that the job provides “easy money.” The idea is that you only need to sit down with a phone and a directory or perhaps, face the computer all day and send mass e-mails or drive traffic to your blog and you are all set to amass a fortune. Actually, these are the exact methodology on how you can earn through network marketing. What people fail to understand is the fact that as simple as it may sound, the whole task is easier said than done.
Lots of advertisers, marketers and distributors would tell you that with network marketing, you shall earn millions in an instant. It’s true that such strategy triggers every prospect’s attention just like that, but you will notice how their excitement about the idea fades out in the same instance. Go ahead and drive traffic to an affiliate’s website, use organic search engine optimisation to promote how you can help others earn money but you still have to give them realistic goals. The millions become stale once proven improbable.
Besides, if your product is as good as what you are saying then you can let it do the talking for you. This brings us to the next misconception about network marketing-focusing on the money-making and ignoring the product. Given that you have chosen a stable company that sells, there is no reason why you should not use its qualities to drive traffic to your website. In fact, search engine optimisation is less necessary if you know that the product itself can gain the prospects’ trust. Once the good news about it gets passed around then you had unburdened yourself with the bulk of your workload.
To illustrate, if you want to use blogging to attract prospects, you will have to ensure quality contents that promote the company’s product. What most people do is use SEO methods targeting the people who are looking for loads of money through network marketing. Instead, use your methodology to employ people who are interested in the mission and vision of the company itself. That way, there would be greater chances that you are getting people who have long-term potentials.
After all, network marketing is not something that happens overnight. You really have to choose your prospects by trying to regulate the traffic to your website. Watch out for people who would not seem to last. Prospects oftentimes expect that they can be successful in an instant. Such misconception is also brought about by the usual marketing tactics we employ wherein they are given the million dollar illusion. The fact that network marketing is a long-term process needs a really hard time explaining but at least they know exactly what to expect.
It does not mean that during the recruitment process, the focus is all about attracting prospects and thrusting your best foot forward. Again, the keyword is “realistic expectations.” It is a huge mistake to try to attract traffic by merely giving them freebies. This happens all the time in blogging and website marketing wherein prospects are enticed by free what-have-yous in exchange of nothing. If this is what they expect about the product then you will be generating future marketers who are but waiting for more freebies while doing less work. There has to be a catch and it is not for the mere sake of bluffing. You have to give the impression that the money is earned and that they still have to be worthy of what the company has been giving.

There is a key point there about not focusing on the money-making material and continuing to provide the product at its desired level of quality. The money-making only comes about based on past usage of the quality product, and the future of the money-making portion of a company depends on the continuity of it.
I actually think network marketing sucks, from experience I was sold the dream in college and quickly found it to be some crap.
The truth is I didn’t put the necessary work into it for it to become successful. Every since then, I have been a skeptic. However, today there are some very different network marketing companies out there and they do provide a great product and great service.
Take Market Leverage for instance. Not your typical network marketing company where you have to pay an entry fee, but if you peel back the layers and look at the commission structure, it is a network marketing company.
The funny thing is I am a member…and I love it. I just joined not too long ago, but am very confident that this is going to be a good part of my future.
Thanks for the article, but consider putting some paragraph headings to make it more scannable for the reader and more search engine friendly for you.
Peace to the bloggers!

Anything with more then 1tier commission is “network marketing”
Armen said it best, focus on the product, not the opportunity…that will come on it’s own if the product is strong and you believe in it.
