It’s a Blog, Not a Sales Letter!

Heck. Who’s denying that when you write a blog review about a certain product, you are not doing it for the money? Only financial cynics will deter you from generating income by turning your blog into a sales page. Nonetheless, it’s no reason why you shouldn’t hear them out. Some of them just wanted to bring back the good all days of blogging when information is still reliable. So even if you are blogging to sell out, don’t try to do so. Write a blog, not a sales letter.

So What’s the Big Difference?

When you come to think about it, a blog that sells a product is essentially a sales letter. But why make a blog to sell if you already have a sales page with your own domain name? That’s because blogging is a whole different strategy in all aspects compared to selling with a sales letter.

For one, sales letter is a long content with tons of highlighted text and exaggerated wordings. It is published in a single webpage with no page break, tabs or links whatsoever. I know you have already seen one of these badly written contents that online entrepreneurs are expecting to sell. In fact, they actually sell sometimes, but more often than not, readers are easily turned off by such a sloppy way of presenting a product. Continue to read this article »

Get promoting using Yahoo! Buzz

Hi, i am Ali Hussain. A young 17-year old part webmaster, part webdesigner. I love blogging and sharing. I started Techuse for Internet Geeks all around the World Wide Web

Do you like to get the latest updates and news? Do you use services like Digg and StumbleUpon for submitting your information? Well, if you like to read breaking stories on major news to viral videos on personal blogs, Yahoo! Buzz is a great place to start. Instead of editors, people like you submit the stories and buzz up the best ones.

Like many of the other social networking and content sites (e.g. Delicious, Digg, Propeller, Reddit, and StumbleUpon) Yahoo! Buzz allows you to vote up or down an article based on if you like it or not, but they take this concept one step further. Their rankings take three things into account. Traffic Monday: 6 Tips on How to Promote Your Website

Websites are great, but without traffic, they are pretty useless. With millions of websites out there, and hundreds of thousands of new ones created each and every day, it gets pretty competitive. If you own a website and are looking for ways to promote it, check out the tips below.

1. Yahoo! Answers.

Yahoo! Answers is a great way to promote your website. No matter what your niche is, you can find questions to answer. For those unfamiliar with Yahoo! Answers, it’s pretty simple. Users ask questions, and for the next few days (usually 5 days), anyone can answer that question. Yahoo! allows links within the answers, as long as it’s not spam. So, just search for some questions, and answer them wholly and completely, leaving a link to your site at the bottom. It is important to answer the questions well, because after the 5 days are up, the question asker chooses a “best answer”. That best answer is displayed above all the other answers, and therefore receives more views.

2. Social Bookmarking Sites.

Social bookmarking sites are a great way to promote your website. Sites like Digg, Technorati, etc, take the days “news”, and allow users to vote on it. You can submit an article, or an entire site, and if the Digg users like it, then they will vote for it. The more people vote, the higher your site goes, bringing more traffic. Digg can also help with general SEO as it is essentially free links to your site. Digg is great for a quick traffic boost, and can often bring hundreds, even thousands of visitors to your site in a day. Continue to read this article »

Why Would You Want to Give Something Away Free on your blog?

Blogs have certainly emerged as a very novel marketing solution in our times. You are running a blog and people come to it for getting more information. Now you are coming with an innovative idea of distributing free goods on your blog. So, you are avoiding large sources of income.

But there are other benefits of making use of such a practice. And those benefits are really great to ignore them at any cost. Free, if you ask is the most strong word in the language of any marketing expert.

Not a waste if you come to think of it

Things given free always serve a purpose and it is not that they are wasted. If a person is providing free Ebooks, then it leads to building a large number of audience for him in the long run. It is a great opportunity for the novel writers who want their work to be known and hence do so through high volume ad-containing sites where their work gets recognition.
