SEO or Google Adwords–Which is Best

Every webmaster and blog owner wants his site to be at the top of search engine rankings; after all, the higher his site ranks in the search engines, the more visitors he will potentially get to his site. Most people who use search engines don’t look past the first page of search results, so ranking high in the results is important.

There are two main methods through which webmasters can increase their search engine rankings-and, therefore, increase their web traffic. These are SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, and Google Adwords. Which is best? Well, each has benefits and drawbacks. Here, we will contrast the two methods in order for webmasters to decide which method is best for their sites.

Price

SEO is free because webmasters are not required to pay anything in order to use this method. However, using SEO techniques takes up a great deal of time. Or, a webmaster could opt to pay a professional to perform SEO techniques for his website. Prices vary greatly depending upon the SEO company he hires.

Google Adwords does cost actual money-if and when a person clicks on the ad that the webmaster places. Webmasters set a daily budget for how much they are willing to spend. Then they develop an ad for the search engine. Each time a person clicks on the ad, money is spent from the daily budget until the maximum budget is spent.

Speed

It can take months for SEO techniques to firmly place a website at the top of a search engine result page. SEO techniques-such as optimizing the layout and text of a website and maximizing incoming links-take time to implement and time to grow into useful and helpful strategies.

On the other hand, Google Adwords is rather instantaneous. As soon as the ad is placed, it is live and can be seen if a person searches for relevant terms relating to that ad. People can click on the ad, resulting in immediate traffic.

Overall Efficacy

SEO techniques are long-lasting, possibly even somewhat permanent. As long as webmasters continue to write good, relevant content and as long as they continue to keep up with the techniques, they will have high search engine ranking. This high search engine ranking will likely result in a strong stream of organic traffic, meaning traffic from people searching for keywords related to the website content.

Google Adwords is a method that a webmaster will continually have to use in the same manner-that is, developing ads and setting daily budgets for click-throughs. It will work as long as the webmaster continues to put in the time and effort for the ads.

Webmasters must choose for themselves which method is right for them. While Google Adwords is more immediately effective, it requires continual work. SEO takes some time in order to become effective; however, after some time it requires little maintenance. Either method will work, so it is up to the webmaster as to which will be best for his particular website.

Use both if you can afford it. By running PPC you can judge very early on in the campaign which keywords are actually converting for you and utilise that information in your organic seo campaign.

  2. For me, the best method is SEO, because it has no money involved, as well as it is more challenging than using Adwords.

I’d go for SEO too, jd. You can’t beat free and if you’re getting the kind of results you’re hoping for from SEO, why spend your extra cash on Adwords? Better to hang on to it than splash out unnecessarily.

Adwords is really good in driving traffic to your website. however, they are very strict right now and they would not easily approve websites that they thought have low quality content. |’
